Rusudan Khizanishvili

루수단 히자니쉬빌리(b. 1979)는 조지아 트빌리시에 거주하며 활동하고 있다. 주체적 여성 이미지와 신화적 도상에 관심을 가지며 작업하는 루수단은 조지아 특유의 이국적인 화풍과 결합하여 자신만의 색채를 드러낸다. 특수한 문화권 안에서 형성된 여성 화가로서의 자아, 모성에 대한 성찰, 그리고 조지아가 지나온 역사적 특이점은 모두 시각적 탐구의 대상이 되어 작가의 작업에 영향을 주었다.

지난 15년 동안 히자니쉬빌리는 트빌리시 현대미술관, 조지아 문학박물관, 트빌리시 주립실크박물관, 라트비아 다우가빌스의 마크 로스코 재단을 포함한 수많은 단체 및 개인전에 참여했으며, 주요 개인전으로는 《Beauty and the Beast》(콘펠드 갤러리, 베를린, 독일, 2022) 등이 있으며 단체전으로 《Checkmate》(Mimmo Scognamiglio Artecontemporanea, 밀라노, 이탈리아, 2024), 《The Great Disappearing Act》(Galerie LJ, Paris, France, 2024) 등이 있다. 2015년 히자니쉬빌리는 《제56회 베니스 아트 비엔날레》에서 다섯 명의 작가들과 함께 조지아를 대표하는 작가로 참여하였으며, 그녀의 작품들은 조지아 국립 박물관에 소장되어 있다.

Rusudan Khizanishvili (b. 1979), based in Tbilisi, Georgia, is interested in subjective female imagery and mythological iconography, which she combines with the exoticism of Georgian painting to reveal her own colorful palette. Her identity as a female painter formed within a particular culture, reflections on motherhood, and the historical singularity of her country have all become objects of visual exploration, and have influenced her work.

Over the past fifteen years Khizanishvili has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions including Museum of Modern Art Tbilisi, Museum of Literature of Georgia, Tbilisi State Silk Museum, Mark Rothko Foundation at Daugavapils. Her major solo exhibitions are 《Beauty and the Beast》 (Galerie Kornfeld, Berlin, Germany, 2022). Major selected group exhibitions are《Checkmate》(Mimmo Scognamiglio Artecontemporanea, Milan, Italy, 2024), 《The Great Disappearing Act》(Mimmo Scognamiglio Artecontemporanea, Milan, Italy, 2024). In 2015 Khizanishvili represented Georgia among five other artists at 《The 56th Venice Art Biennale》. Her works are in the collections of the Georgian National Museum.
