Juergen Staack (b.1978) is a German contemporary artist whose multidisciplinary practice interrogates the ontological boundaries of the image. A former student of Thomas Ruff at the Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts, Staack transcends traditional photography, integrating installation, sound, and performance to examine how the “original” is translated across diverse media.

 His conceptual rigor is exemplified in ephemeral temporal studies, such as twenty-four-hour shadow sketches that register the sun’s trajectory, and linguistic inquiries that transmute endangered dialects into visual syntax. By staging the systematic misinterpretation of language, Staack reveals the inherent fragility of communication and perception.
