남신오는 1993년 대한민국 서울에서 태어나 현재 베를린과 서울을 기반으로 활동하고 있다. 2022년 베를린 예술대학교(Universität der Künste Berlin)에서 모니카 본비치니(Monica Bonvicini) 교수의 마이스터슐러(Meisterschüler) 과정을 수료했으며, 이에 앞서 2015년부터 2021년까지 뒤셀도르프 쿤스트아카데미(Kunstakademie Düsseldorf)에서 리타 맥브라이드(Rita McBride),로타르 헴펠(Lothar Hempel), 위르겐 드레셔(Jürgen Drescher), 도나텔라 피오레티(Donatella Fioretti) 교수에게 순수미술과 건축을공부했다. 독일로 이주하기 전에는 서울에서 사진 및 비주얼 미디어 분야에서 활동했으며, 심리상담 자격을 취득했다.

남신오의 작품은 홍콩의 버거 컬렉션(Burger Collection), 폴란드의 크루파 아트 파운데이션(Krupa Art Foundation)을 비롯한 유럽과 아시아의 여러 컬렉션에 소장되어 있다.

Shinoh Nam, born 1993 in Seoul, South Korea, lives and works in Berlin and Seoul. He received a Meisterschüler from Monica Bonvicini at the Universität der Künste in Berlin (2022) and previously studied Fine Art and Architecture at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Rita McBride, Lothar Hempel, Jürgen Drescher and Donatella Fioretti (2015-2021). Before moving to Germany, Nam has worked in Photography and Visual Media in Seoul, where he also obtained a qualification in psychological counseling.
